Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 26, 2026

condensr ("we," "us," or "our") operates the condensr web application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect information provided by your Google account through OAuth authentication, including your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive or store your Google password.

1.2 Content You Submit

We collect the video URLs you submit for processing, the summaries and transcriptions generated from those videos, chat messages you exchange with our AI about your summaries, and any library organization data (tags, folders, notes).

1.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, timestamps of requests, IP address, browser type and version, device type, and referring URLs.

1.4 Payment Information

When you purchase a credit pack, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive only a transaction identifier, purchase confirmation, and billing email from Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process video URLs you submit — downloading, transcribing, and summarizing content
  • Enable AI chat features on your summaries
  • Manage your account and credit balance
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts, service updates)
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse

3. Audio and Video Processing

When you submit a video URL, we download the audio track for transcription purposes. Audio files are processed and deleted after transcription is complete. We do not store the original audio or video content. Only the resulting text transcription and AI-generated summary are retained in your account.

4. Public vs. Private Summaries

By default, summaries you generate are public and visible in the community library to other users, without being attributed to your identity. Each summary has a privacy toggle you can use to make it private at any time — a private summary is visible only to you.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Google Firebase — Authentication and hosting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini AI — Summarization and chat. Video transcription text is sent to Google's AI services for summary generation. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Sentry — Error tracking and performance monitoring. May receive technical data about errors you encounter. Subject to Sentry's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Cloud Platform — Infrastructure hosting and secret management.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and summaries for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and summaries within 30 days, except where we are required to retain data for legal or compliance purposes. Audio files are deleted immediately after processing as described in Section 3.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted secrets management via Google Cloud Secret Manager, OAuth-based authentication (no passwords stored), and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to persist your authentication session and theme preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Firebase Authentication may set cookies necessary for session management.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your summaries and data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
